It was wonderful to be able to participate in Tampere Raw's rehearsals at Tampere Hall, where they rehearsed my piece 'The Comet' for the Usedom Music Festival in Germany on October 5, 2025. Heartfelt thanks to Linda Halme, Reetta Näätänen, Maija Juuti and Jouko Laivuori.

“The same things come again like the comet, they pass away, disappear, and come again.” 
The Comet for clarinet, violin, cello and piano by Jennah Vainio (2004) was commissioned by the Danish Ensemble Nordlys for their H.C. Andersen 200 Years Project. The fast paced piece is a captivating depiction of the fairytale with the same title.

Now available! Jennah Vainio's Nerve-Wreck Blues Overture (2010, rev, 2023) is a fast-paced and engaging blues overture written for string orchestra. It respects the traditions of the blues while sparingly combining the stylistic means of newer concert music. Suitable for student orchestras.

I would like to warmly thank the eminent musicians and dancers Leif Nystén, flute / Ville Kaila, violin / Lotta Corin, viola / Oscar Schulz, cello / Natasha Lommi and Misa Lommi, dance and choreography for the performance of Eldsjälen at the House of Nobility on January 11, 2025 at the 160th anniversary concert of the Gymnasiet Svenska Normallyceum. My symphonic poem, 'Sylvia's Lullaby', describing my grandmother's eventful life story, will receive no less than two Irish performances this coming July in Limerick and Kilkenny. 
The National Youth Orchestra of Ireland, made up of some of the country's most talented young players, will be conducted by Ruth Reinhardt. The concert will also feature Sibelius's Symphony No. 2 and Schumann's Piano Concerto with Fiachra Garvey as soloist.
